Our Road Trip 2016

This summer we decided to take the whole family on a 2 week roadtrip from our home to West Edmonton Mall and back.

We left here and headed to Osoyoos, BC for 2 nights

I think we spent the 2 days in the worst weather that Osoyoos had all summer. Super windy and rainy. The hotel was subpar and the beach was lovely.

   On our way to Revelstoke, BC we stopped in Enderby, BC and we found this amazing place called Log Cabin 1912. One of the best parts for the whole trip.

 
 Revelstoke was amazingly beautiful. We stayed at Base Camp and it was nice and homey. The family was sad to leave.

On our day we went geocaching and to the Revelstoke Dam and Visitor's Centre. Colin and Jack really enjoyed it.

We left Revelstoke for a very long day to Drumheller, AB through Banff National Park, AB.  Too commercial for me.

We arrived in Drumheller, AB. So many mosquitoes!   

We went to the Royal Tyrell Museum. Jack and Colin were in heaven.

On the way back to the museum we went to a place called the Old Grouch Restaurant for dinner. The museum was so busy around the lunch time that we went home for a break and went back after dinner. The Tough Mudder was in town so all the restaurants were so busy we went to this little quirky diner and the food was great and the owners were just as quirky.

After Drumheller we made our way to West Edmonton, AB. Its a really big mall basically. It has waterslides, 2 mini golf, amusement park, bowling alley and marine life show.

Where are my children?

After Edmonton we stopped in Hinton for one night and it was not even worth a picture and the Ramada was terrible.

We drove through Jasper, AB on our way to Clearwater, BC. I had never been to Jasper. The animals and geocaching were beautiful. The town was nothing special.

 We stayed at 2 motels in Clearwater, BC on the lake and neither were any special. The lake was amazing.

I took up watercolor painting because it was much easier to transport but not my forte. I think I will go back to acrylics.

 On our way home from Clearwater, BC, our car broke down in Kamloops, BC. We had to stay another night while a new alternator was installed. 

So glad to be home.
