Happy bonding time.

Image
Mady and Wyatt are so much alike sometimes that they have had a difficult time bonding through their jealousy of each's relationship with Jack. Jack was gone today so we went swimming. They played wonderfully and had a great time together. Pics are kind of blurry, sorry.

Raspberry Pi - Too Cool

Image
Yesterday I got a Raspberry Pi 3, the case and an SD card. I also paid for a power cord but it won't be in for 2 weeks. All in $104 at Lee's Electronics on Fraser street. They were very helpful. For those who don't know, it is a credit card sized computer! Too cool! Its original design was to teach kids coding and DOS commands but really you can do most things that a regular laptop can do on a Linux based platform.  RP3 even has on board wifi and Bluetooth. It is hooked up to my television via HDMI. You can also take it physical. Make robots, lie detectors, light shows and a thousand other applications. I put it in the case, downloaded Noons onto my SD card and installed in on my Raspberry Pi 3, plugged in my USB keyboard and mouse and away I went. I am working on getting the Bluetooth to work consistantly for sound. A bit frustrating but I am sure I will figure it out with all the help and resources you can find online for this little gem. How I learned to love reading.

I have never been a good reader. I have tried for years to read especially after I had children to be a good example. I wanted to raise kids who loved to rea   It did get easier once ereading was invented but I was still really slow. I felt dumb. I think because I was so slow and I had a hard time processing the written word that I was attracted to simpler books written for teenagers. I also like a sweet love story. This is where I developed my love of stories of Utopian society or more accurately the failure of Utopian society, lol and my favorite love stories involving vampires and other magical characters. A year ago I lost the ability to read due to depression and CFS. I still wanted to read so my friend suggested audiobooks. I started finding a selection of unabridged audio books on the website of my public library using the OneClick, Overdrive apps and when the library didn't have something I wanted to read I went to Audible. Now I have a book going all the time and

First Attempt at Stretch Bars

Image
My Abstract paint was done on loose canvas which was a first for me. It was going to cost $70 to stretch it. The class only cost $50. I went to Colours and bought my own stretch bars and the very nice man in the framing department cut me supports for the corners because 36 x 36 is just to big to go without supports. This is my attempt. I think it turned out great.
